Active (state)
Definition
The state of a Shrubbery where the Knight has performed the Handshake and the commitment is live. An Active row is load-bearing: it contributes to the Flow Score denominator and is subject to deadline enforcement.
Avoid: accepted, confirmed, in-progress, ongoing.
Role
Active is where a Shrubbery does its work in the system. Once the Knight Handshakes, the row enters the Flow Score denominator — the commitment counts whether or not it is delivered on time. Rows in this state appear in the Active column of the Garden, where the Lead monitors them for progress and overdue signals.
Either the Lead or the Knight can mark an Active row Completed. The Lead can also make a substantive edit, which triggers a Renegotiation: the row returns to Pending_Handshake and temporarily leaves the Flow Score until the Knight re-Handshakes.
Lifecycle
Pending_Handshake→Active— Knight accepts via the Accord.Active→Completed— Lead or Knight marks done via the Detail Sheet, or viaPOST /api/v1/sync.Active→Pending_Handshake— Lead makes a substantive edit (Renegotiation). Arenegotiatedaudit event is emitted.
Non-substantive edits (wording tweaks, minor corrections) emit an Edited audit event and keep the row Active.
