The initial, pre-submission state of a Shrubbery.
Definition
The initial, pre-submission state of a Shrubbery. A Draft exists only in the Lead's view — the Knight has not been notified and has no obligation.
Avoid: pending, staging, unpublished.
Role
Draft is the staging zone where the Lead shapes a commitment before sending it. All four capture paths (Smart Paste, URL Drop, Manual Contract, Inbox API) deposit their output here first, giving the Lead one last chance to review extracted fields, correct the assignee, or adjust the deadline before the Handshake protocol begins.
A Draft row scores nothing toward the Commitment Flow Score — no numerator, no denominator. The row appears in the Draft column of the Garden and is only editable by the Lead. No audit event is emitted until the Lead promotes via the Send action.
Lifecycle
Draft— row created via any capture path. Visible to Lead only. Fully editable.Draft→Pending_Handshake— Lead promotes via the Send action in the Detail Sheet.
There is no path back to Draft once a row has been sent. A renegotiated row returns to Pending_Handshake, not to Draft.
